By Jenny Paulson – Pueblo is on high alert this afternoon with an amber alert breaking saying a mother and her one year old son are missing after allegedly being kidnapped by her ex boyfriend (the said father). They were last seen near Pueblo in a video near where the vehicle was abandoned at 1741 Cypress, according to the latest reports.
Police in the late afternoon were canvassing the area. Scanner reports say they looked at video for the safety of the mother, son and ex boyfriend and are trying to find them. They identified what clothing they are wearing.
Police in Adams County believe that 26-year-old Samantha Adams and her son Zahid were taken from the Commerce City at around 11:30 a.m today and say they are from Pueblo.
Dan Wall of Pueblo’s Scanner alert reported that it sounded like they were in Pueblo this early afternoon, saying on his facebook page, “Kidnapping suspect in gray primer sedan (plate EVW410) came into Pueblo from I-25 followed by a yellow Mustang. Probably in Pueblo by now. There is some kind of chase going on right now.”
Later at about 2:30 pm he reported to me, “They are all at Walmart on Dillon Dr and hopefully, they get him. He must be some where around there somewhere behind Tinsletown.”
Social media apparently started saying they heard that the vehicle was found but not the mother and daughter, however at about 3 pm, Adams County twittered “the vehicle was NOT found” and that the vehicle may be traveling on I-25. But just before that the CPD had twittered the vehicle WAS found, leaving confusion.
Then later in the afternoon Adams County reported the vehicle was found at 1741 Cypress and police are said to be canvassing the area. A bomb squad vehicle showed up at the fairgrounds at about the same time and not sure they are related but Dan Wall of the Pueblo Scanner alert page said
“They just reviewed video of all three of them getting out of a car in the alley off of Stone/Cyprus.” They are concentrating on looking for them inside the fair.”
At about 4:30 police are said to have been hauling the vehicle away, found in the alley. “They got surveillance video from the back side of a home on Stone or Cypress to ensure everyone involved got out of the car and update the clothing descriptions,” Wall reported.
The missing woman was allegedly kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend Maurico Venzo-Gonzalez who is 22 years old, 5’6, black hair, brown eyes, hispanic, about 130 pounds, believed to have been driving the car.
