Suspect in recent Rye bank robbery may have been killed by law enforcement Monday night

BREAKING NEWS – SUSPECT IN RECENT RYE BANK ROBBERY MAY HAVE BEEN KILLED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT ACCORDING TO AUDIO FROM SCANNERS – Pueblo Sheriff’s Detectives and the FBI’s Task Force shot and killed the suspect who robbed a Rye bank recently, according to several audio recordings posted on the Pueblo Scanner Alert Facebook page.

Several audio clips posted to the page suggest that Dennis Flores, the man wanted for a recent bank robbery the early morning of August 16th, pulled a gun on law enforcement and missed, then he was shot and killed by law enforcement at the Applewood Trailer Park in Colorado City at about 7 pm Monday night.

It only took one afternoon for law enforcement to identify the robber of the Ent Federal Credit Union at 1 Mount Baldy Drive, as Dennis Flowers. The Sheriff’s Department released pictures from a video of the man handing a teller a note demanding money and leads poured in identifying him a known local resident, who had tried to disguise himself with sunglasses and a hat.

Witnesses say he ran off in an older pickup truck parked in a part of the parking lot typically not used. Law enforcement found his truck was found abandoned at the Cuerno Verde Rest Area in Colorado City, shortly after he was identified. They said he was staying at the nearby Days Inn near the highway, but in a search warrant of Flower’s room, he wasn’t found.
